Meet Our Team
Our Resilience Wellness Team focuses on guiding and coaching our practice members toward healthier, more vibrant lives. We address the roots problem of frustrating systems, helping our practice members to not just feel better temporarily - but to reverse disease and allow the body return to a state of balance and vitality.
Hey! I'm so glad you're here checking us out! I'm Dr. Camille Koontz at your service. I'm the medical director at NCNM house, a naturopathic clinic and healing center in Bellingham with over 40 years of service to the community. I'm so proud to carry on this legacy and help you tap into the services here that are going to be a good fit for you.
The contribution that bring me the most pride has been creating Resilience Wellness Programs. We work with folks all over the state of Washington to find natural and sustainable health and longevity. We recognize that so many people are suffering in the conventional medical system and we have intentionally moved away from a system that is simply not working. We are on a mission to end needless suffering and empower you to regain the sense of control that's lost to anyone facing chronic symptoms.
Individualized programs allow us to create a plan that's going to address the roots of your illness, teach you to tools to make sustainable changes, and mentor you when challenges arise on your journey.
My journey into healthcare started at age 19 when I got my first job drawing blood samples for a little community hospital while I studied nursing. After graduating from Humboldt State University with my bachelors of nursing, I found myself becoming more and more disappointed with the approach of hospital medicine for chronic disease. My heart broke for the folks who were trapped in a system that managed symptoms with pills and procedures instead of addressing the cause and reversing disease. Burned out from being another cog in the giant healthcare system and feeling totally disempowered, I took ownership of my destiny and attended Bastyr University to earn my doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine. Now I have the tools and mindset needed to put the missing pieces together and help others to take ownership of their own journeys. I know how to rebuild, repair, and create health and wellness in the body. It's my greatest joy to see others get unstuck and gain the courage to choose independence and ownership. Everyone wins when we take care of ourselves because we then have so much more to give.
I look forward to partnering with you, revealing the missing pieces, and getting you on a path to the life of your dreams.
I am your Coach on your journey to optimal health. What’s that mean? You’re not alone.
The biggest value that drives my actions is for others to feel their very best, inside and out. I want you to be comfortable in your own skin. Sometimes our health doesn’t allow us that, sometimes our modern medical system doesn’t allow us that. Sometimes, we don’t need another pill and to be shuttled in and out of the doctor’s office in less than 10 minutes…all we need is someone to listen.
My health journey started many years ago when I was just a child. My most recent powerful moment was 12 years ago. A boil-like rash spread from shoulder to shoulder - nowhere else. It was painful, embarrassing, and I was stumped. I went to the dermatologist 1x a month for eight months trying to figure it out. 10 minutes every time. Walking out with a new prescription. Through pills, steroid creams, skin scrapes, and biopsies, the rash remained status quo. Finally, in the 8th month, the doc slapped his head, took the third biopsy, and said, “we need to test for celiac.”
Within two weeks of my cutting out gluten and wheat - no pills, no creams - the rash was gone. It was at this moment I knew the healing power of food. And from this point on, I believe in a food-first, lifestyle approach.
Our entire team is here to work WITH you, to support you on this journey. We want you to feel better than you've ever felt in your lives - and that feeling is possible.
Feeling confident in your health, in your skin is possible. It is your right as a human. That first step can be scary - but know you are not alone, and you have people that are listening.
Office Manger & Wellness Concierge
Welcome to Resilience Wellness Programs. I’m Marcia, your wellness concierge, and office manager. It’s my goal to make our members feel welcomed and put in touch with the wealth of resources we have to offer. Being part of the Resilience Wellness team gives me the privilege of helping people along their journey of changing their lives and health.
Nothing is as important as having good health. My passion goes back to growing up with my grandmother who lived a very holistic lifestyle. She was the original influencer. Good nourishment, sleep, and exercise are the foundations of living life to the fullest. As a child, I was always sick with fatigue and severe digestive issues. I feel like I lived at the pediatrician’s office. My grandmother decided to take matters into her own hands. The first thing to go from my diet was sugar. That made a huge difference in how I felt. Over the years I’ve removed gluten, dairy, and some grains. Doing the program with Dr. Koontz really helped me see what I was sensitive to and what was okay to eat. Occasionally I will fall off the wagon and get back to a bad place of bloating and not feeling well. But now I have the tools to get myself back on track. It’s so amazing to me what your body can do with the right nutrition.
I have a degree in graphic design which served me well for many years. But I started to feel like I really wanted to do something else with my life. I wanted to give back to my community and help people achieve their goals. When the opportunity to apply with Resilience Wellness came up I felt like I had found my calling. I feel like Resilience Wellness is the perfect fit because it aligns with everything I believe in. You can heal your body with lifestyle and dietary changes.
Outside of work I love hiking and being outdoors. Physical fitness is my jam and that includes running, yoga, and barre classes. My home life includes growing my yearly organic vegetable garden, making art, and playing with my dogs.
